Reece Wilson
Occupational Therapist, Hiya Health Labrador
Reece is a passionate Occupational Therapist at the Hiya Health Labrador Clinic. He holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from Southern Cross University and adopts an approach focusing on inclusion, diversity, collaboration and advocacy.
Reece has come from a background in sport and exercise science, where he spent his earlier career as a sports administrator, particularly working with grassroots to high performance Paralympic athletes. During this time, Reece was fortunate enough to travel to diverse places of the world with high performance Paralympic teams. This sparked Reece’s passion as an OT in the prescription of assistive technology, providing individuals access to equipment that affords them independence at home, in the community and participation in areas of interest.
Reece has spent his early Occupational Therapy career in paediatrics, supporting children with a variety of neurodevelopmental disorders (ASD, ADHD, GDD) addressing areas of difficulty such as social skill development, emotional regulation, fine motor skills, sensory profiling and stakeholder liaison within schools, kindergartens and community settings. During this time, Reece has built experience in supporting children and families with a variety of needs, ensuring a holistic approach to therapy that’s led by evidence-based practice. Additionally, Reece has an active interest in other neurological conditions such as intellectual impairments, acquired brain injury and stroke rehabilitation.
In his downtime, Reece enjoys being by the water, spending time with his young family and playing lawn bowls.
