Melanie is an Occupational Therapist who works at our Redcliffe clinic, having joined our team early 2023. She studied at UQ and received an Honours degree of Occupational Therapy.

Mel previously worked in the paediatric field but has since moved to work with mixed populations with an interest in Assistive Technology and Home Modifications, particularly for adult populations. She has a passion to see change in people’s lives to help them function in occupations that they have previously had difficulty accessing.

When Mel isn’t at work she enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, going to church or reading a good book.

“I find learning about different people and how they live to be so interesting and I feel like this reflects on how we need to provide interventions. There is no one-size-fits-all approach and we need to work holistically to find out what sort of care, modification or intervention will suit each person to work with their individual lifestyle and needs. This is the sort of problem solving which makes me love this area of work and I love getting to know each participant and what is meaningful to them so we can work out how to make this possible in their lives.”
