Lauren graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from Griffith University in 2018. She has gained experience working with a variety of clients including both a paediatric and adult caseload. This has included time within a paediatric clinic, as well roles where therapy has been within the client’s own environments.
Lauren is passionate about enabling enjoyment and purpose in other people’s lives, incorporating a client-centred and family-centred approach to ensure they are working together to achieve their goals. Since becoming a Mum, Lauren has been able to see therapy from a different perspective and has valued having the clients and their families at the centre of her care.
She has worked with a variety of individuals who have difficulty reaching their full potential due to injury, illness, or diagnoses such as: autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, global development delay, learning difficulties, motor coordination challenges, sensory processing difficulties, intellectual disability, psychological or emotional challenges, and physical disabilities. This has included working within the NDIS, private health sector, Home Care Package, and DVA, where clients have worked towards achieving goals that have incorporated assistive technology, home modifications, and other strategies such as emotional regulation, sensory integration, social interaction, and others to increase independence and engagement.
When Lauren is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach, getting a coffee from a local café, or even just relaxing at home.
