Kaitlyn is an occupational therapist at Hiya Health Burleigh Heads with a passion for supporting children in developing the skills they need to thrive in their everyday environments. With experience in emotional regulation, executive function support, sensory profiling, fine motor skills, and social skill development, Kaitlyn works closely with children and their families to create meaningful and engaging therapy experiences.

Kaitlyn graduated from Otago Polytechnic in 2021 before completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Occupational Therapy, endorsed in Adventure Therapy and Vocational Rehabilitation in 2022. This further study deepened her passion for neurological rehabilitation and the power of experiential learning to promote independence, self-confidence, and social connection, helping individuals build essential life skills through meaningful, hands-on experiences.

In addition to her work in paediatrics, Kaitlyn has experience in chronic pain management and assistive technology, supporting individuals to develop strategies that enhance their quality of life and daily function. She integrates this knowledge into her current role, helping her adult clients implement pain management techniques, regulate sensory sensitivities, and develop adaptive coping strategies. By combining her expertise in emotional regulation and neurological rehabilitation, she empowers individuals to build resilience and engage meaningfully in their daily lives.

Kaitlyn enjoys creating supportive environments where children and adults alike can explore, learn, and develop essential life skills, ensuring therapy is not only effective but also engaging and enjoyable. She is passionate about helping individuals of all ages lead independent and fulfilling lives.

Kaitlyn is committed to ongoing professional development, having completed training in Able-Axcess ramp prescription, Breathing as an intervention, and Power Mobility “Mat Evaluation 101”and Wheelchair Scripting. These additional qualifications enhance her ability to provide comprehensive care, further supporting her clients’ mobility and functional needs.

Outside of work, Kaitlyn enjoys staying active at the gym, taking her beloved cocker spaniel on walks, and spending quality time with friends.
